This one, the Vitamix 4500 Turbo Blend Countertop Blender with 2+ HP Motor, was the best. It works just as well as a food processor, perhaps even better. You can make really, really thick things with this blender. I’m not one for watery smoothies – spoonable ones are best. I now make fruit smoothies so thick I just call them sorbets. Although the price seems steep, I truly believe that it is cost-efficient, especially given how much I use it. (MM)

This blender goes through anything! Peel, core, seeds, ice, whatever. Don’t bother doing too much prep, one of the excuses I used to have was that eating healthy foods took too much time.
